These terms ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by Alentra LLC, doing business as Kyete, a handyman service ("Kyete," "we," "us"), including handyman services, payment authorization, customer signoff, and our SMS/voice/web messaging channels. By contacting us, booking a service, authorizing an estimate, signing off on work, or using our website or messaging channels, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
Kyete provides general handyman repair and installation services for covered service addresses in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County, including plumbing-adjacent repairs, electrical-adjacent repairs, drywall, carpentry, furniture assembly, smart-home setup, fixture installation, and general repair. Work requiring a licensed trade professional under applicable law or local code will be declined, limited, or referred to a licensed provider.
2. Customer authority and site access
You represent that you are at least 18 years old and have authority to request service at the property, approve work, authorize payment, and grant Kyete personnel access at the scheduled time. You are responsible for disclosing hazards, pets, parking issues, access restrictions, building rules, tenant or owner approvals, and any conditions that could affect the work or safety.
3. Pricing, estimates, and change orders
Our standard pricing is shown before booking. A dispatch fee reserves the appointment. Labor is billed at the published rate unless a written fixed price is approved. Materials, parts, parking, disposal, permit costs, and other agreed out-of-pocket costs may be added at cost or at the price disclosed before approval.
Before work begins, the technician or Kyete system will present an estimate or not-to-exceed amount when practical. You must approve the estimate before work starts. If the scope changes, hidden conditions are discovered, or the final amount will exceed the approved amount, a change order or updated approval is required before additional work continues.
4. Card-on-file authorization and payment capture
Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. By booking a service, paying a dispatch fee, saving a payment method, approving an estimate, approving a change order, or signing off on completion, you authorize Kyete and Stripe to store your payment method and charge it for amounts you approve, including dispatch fees, labor, materials, change orders, cancellation or trip fees, taxes, and other agreed charges for the job.
Kyete may place a temporary authorization hold on your payment method before work begins or during the job for the approved estimate, not-to-exceed amount, or updated change-order amount. At completion, your customer signoff authorizes Kyete to immediately capture or charge the approved final amount using your saved payment method. If a payment fails, you agree to promptly provide another valid payment method.
Cash payments, side payments, direct payments to technicians, and attempts to bypass Kyete's payment system are not permitted unless Kyete gives written approval in advance.
5. Completion signoff
At the end of a job, Kyete may ask you to review a digital completion summary showing the work performed, time, materials, photos, notes, and final amount. You may sign by digital signature, typed name, SMS confirmation, one-time passcode, or another electronic method. Your signoff confirms that the work was performed as described, that you approve the final amount, and that you authorize immediate payment capture.
If you believe the completion summary is inaccurate, you must raise the issue before signing when reasonably possible. Refusing to sign does not waive payment for properly authorized or completed work. Kyete may review job records, photos, messages, technician logs, arrival/departure data, and other evidence to determine the amount due.
6. Scheduling, cancellation, and no-show fees
- You may reschedule or cancel by replying to our SMS or calling our number.
- Cancellations made less than two (2) hours before the scheduled start, failure to provide access, or failure to be present or reachable when required may result in forfeiture of the dispatch fee and/or a reasonable trip fee.
- We may reschedule if weather, safety, illness, supply issues, or emergency reasons prevent on-site work; we will notify you as soon as practical.
7. Messaging, calls, and electronic records
When you contact Kyete by calling our number, texting us, or submitting a booking form, you consent to receive transactional SMS, voice, and email messages related to your service request. These may include booking confirmations, payment authorization links, arrival updates, completion signoff links, receipts, quality follow-ups, and dispute-resolution messages.
- Program name: Kyete Service Updates.
- Message frequency: varies with the job; typically 1-10 messages per service, but more may be sent for scheduling, payment, completion, or dispute follow-up.
- Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
- Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out. Opting out may prevent us from sending service updates by SMS; you may still reach us by calling.
- Supported carriers: all major U.S. mobile carriers. Delivery is not guaranteed and can be delayed by carrier conditions.
You consent to the use of electronic records and electronic signatures for booking, estimate approval, change orders, completion signoff, receipts, and service communications.
8. Photos, documentation, and dispute evidence
Kyete and assigned technicians may document the job with photos, notes, timestamps, location/context logs, customer approvals, and communications. These records are used for quality control, safety, warranty support, billing, fraud prevention, collection, and payment-dispute evidence. We will not intentionally publish photos that identify you or your private living space for marketing without your permission.
9. Warranty and exclusions
Kyete warrants workmanship for thirty (30) days after completion unless a longer period is agreed in writing. Manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures are passed through to you when available. The warranty does not cover customer-supplied materials, pre-existing defects, hidden conditions, misuse, normal wear and tear, work altered by others, or work outside the approved scope.
10. Liability limitation
To the extent permitted by Missouri law, Kyete's total liability for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid for that job. Kyete is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of use, lost profits, or loss of data.
11. Fraud, abuse, and payment avoidance
Kyete may refuse, cancel, suspend, or require additional verification for any booking or customer account if we believe there is fraud risk, safety risk, payment risk, abuse of the platform, attempts to bypass payment, repeated payment failures, repeated disputes, identity mismatch, or collusion with a technician. We may use payment-provider risk tools, internal rules, and manual review to protect customers, technicians, and Kyete.
12. Disputes and chargebacks
Please contact Kyete first if you have a concern about a charge or service. If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute, you authorize Kyete to provide the payment processor, card network, bank, court, or collection provider with relevant evidence, including these Terms, booking records, payment authorizations, signoff records, messages, call records, job notes, timestamps, and photos.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled in the state or federal courts located in St. Louis, Missouri, under Missouri law, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms for later bookings or services.
